Big Hearts. Big Stories. Big Dog.
Big Dog is the filmmaking partnership of Mitch and Madison (Maddy) Hudson — a husband-and-wife team who bring stories to life in a way you might never have thought of before. Mitch is a writer, director, and showrunner. Madison is a story editor and writer. Together, they tell stories that aim to make you laugh, cry, and maybe discover that you, too, can be a big dog at heart.
The name Big Dog started as a joke — but also as a declaration. When Mitch turned 30, he decided to chase his dreams with full faith. Big Dog became a symbol of that leap — of digging in and doing the work one day at a time. For us, “Big Dog” isn’t about size or status; it’s about spirit. It means that anyone can do big things, even if they’re not the biggest dog in the yard. Big budgets don’t make great stories — big hearts and a commitment to excellence do.
Our TV series The Promised Land is a deeply personal and faith-driven project — an endeavor that honors our love for God and the timeless story of Moses. We’re humbled to be telling it, and to share in a story that reminds us what faith, humility, and a little laughter can look like in the face of the impossible.
From The Promised Land to the projects still in our notebooks, we build worlds around people — their flaws, dreams, and the wild places those things can take them. Whether it’s a sprawling drama or a scrappy indie, our goal is always the same: to tell stories that make people feel something real.
We love what we do. Thank you for being a part of our story.
